Inspections for child care, adult care, private educational facilities, etc. are required by the state of Maryland. If you are required to have this type of inspection a request may be submitted by one of three methods:

  1. Call and request the inspection over the phone. A Permit Technician will ask several questions related to the business, address, responsible party, etc. Once those questions have been answered a case file will be created and a fee may be paid by credit card over the phone. An inspection can be scheduled at the same time for as early as the next business day.

  2. Visit the Planning & Code Administration Department on the first floor of Gaithersburg City Hall and a permit technician will ask several questions related to the business, address and responsible party. Once those questions have been answered a case file will be created and a fee may be paid by credit card, check, or cash. An inspection can be scheduled at the same time for as early as the next business day.

  3. Fill out the form under Related Documents and return it with a check by mail. Once the form has been processed, we will call to schedule an inspection.

NOTE: If you are applying as a new family child care provider, make sure you receive a copy of the Child Care Fire Safety Checklist.
