National Night Out

Several Gaithersburg neighborhoods are joining communities across the country to participate in the National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime campaign.
On Tuesday, August 4, these neighborhoods will hold events to increase drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, encourage residents to be involved in their communities, and send a message that neighborhoods and businesses are organized to fight back against crime. The NNO programs help bring together residents, law enforcement agencies, local officials, civic groups, and neighborhood organizations.
Participating neighborhoods include:
- Bennington (6:30 – 8:30 p.m.)
Social event on the Parcel K - large grassy area bordered by Longdraft Road, Wade Court, Oak Shade, and East Darby Court. - Casey Community Center (6 – 8 p.m.)
Activities at Community Center, 810 South Frederick Avenue. - Hillside Senior Living Apartments Bennington (5 – 7 p.m.)
Social event the community pool, 200 Skidmore Boulevard. - Kentlands/Lakelands (6 – 8:30 p.m.)
Activities at the Clubhouse, 485 Tschiffely Square Road. - Montgomery Meadows (5 – 8 p.m.)
Activities at Travis Park, 220 Travis Avenue. - Primrose School of Gaithersburg (5 – 7 p.m.)
Activities at Primrose School, 902 Wind River Lane. - Saybrooke (6 – 8 p.m.)
Activities at the community pool on Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard.
Casey Community Center will host National Night Out events from 6 to 8 p.m. at 810 S. Frederick Ave. Meet police officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and allied agencies. This annual community‑building event strengthens neighborhood connections, helping make our community safer and more caring. Casey’s event achieves this goal in a way that is truly enjoyable for all ages.
This year’s celebration features an expanded resource fair designed to support residents facing rising costs and connect them with valuable services. The fair will include food distribution, health screenings, and community representatives offering information on financial wellness, including budgeting, banking, and credit support. A dedicated Housing Hub will provide resources on rental assistance and homeownership programs. Additional highlights include the Work Force Mobile Unit, which residents are welcomed to bring their professional resume, sensory‑friendly activities, and information about City programs from the Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture.
The evening will also feature music, line dancing, multicultural entertainment, crafts, games, duck races, and free ice cream and coffee.
