The Gaithersburg Police Department is a progressive Department that will always strive to maintain excellence and professionalism in its service to the citizens and businesses of the City of Gaithersburg. Gaithersburg is an exceptional city and the efforts of our police officers, civilian support staff, volunteers, citizens, and the steadfast public safety support from the Mayor and City Council have made a positive impact on the quality of life in the community.
Mark P. Sroka is the Chief of Police of the Gaithersburg Police Department in Gaithersburg, MD and has served in this capacity since July 13, 2010. He was previously a 24-year member of the Maryland State Police and held the rank of Major upon his retirement on July 1, 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Baltimore.
