Physical Requirements

Due to the physical and mental demands of the position, applicants must be in overall good health and physical condition, and must be emotionally and psychologically stable.

Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates must complete:

  • Emotional Stability & Psychological Evaluation – Administered by a licensed professional

  • Comprehensive Medical Examination – Includes a drug screening test (required by MPCTC) and may allow corrected vision to 20/20 or uncorrected to 20/45

  • Physical Fitness/Agility Assessment – Conducted by trained professionals

Work Schedule

Police officers work a 40-hour week. Shift hours are as follows:

  • Day Shift: 0600 – 1600 hours

  • Evening Shift: 1400 – 2400 hours

  • Night Shift: 2000 – 0600 hours

Uniforms & Equipment

The department provides all uniforms and equipment. A dry cleaning allowance is also included as part of the employment package.
