Holiday trees are considered normal yard waste and will be collected from single-family homes and townhouses on your weekly recycling day from December 26 through March 1.
The City’s recycling contractor will collect holiday trees along with branches and other yard trimmings during weekly yard waste pickup.
Preparation Guidelines
- Remove all decorations, including lights, ornaments, tinsel, garland, and tree stands.
- Do not place trees in plastic bags—trees must be left loose at the curb.
- Artificial trees are not accepted as yard waste. Please donate if they’re in good condition.
Helpful Reminders
- Place your tree next to your recycling container at the curb or in the alley by 7 a.m. on your weekly recycling day.
- Trees must be in their natural state.
- Remove all decorations, including tinsel, angel hair, and garlands.
- Make sure no metal is attached to the tree.
- Do not wrap trees in plastic.
- Artificial trees and trees with root balls will not be recycled.
- Trees will only be picked up from your residence—do not drop off at schools or public buildings.
