Preparation Guidelines

  • Remove all decorations, including lights, ornaments, tinsel, garland, and tree stands.
  • Do not place trees in plastic bags—trees must be left loose at the curb.
  • Artificial trees are not accepted as yard waste. Please donate if they’re in good condition.

Helpful Reminders

  • Place your tree next to your recycling container at the curb or in the alley by 7 a.m. on your weekly recycling day.
  • Trees must be in their natural state.
  • Remove all decorations, including tinsel, angel hair, and garlands.
  • Make sure no metal is attached to the tree.
  • Do not wrap trees in plastic.
  • Artificial trees and trees with root balls will not be recycled.
  • Trees will only be picked up from your residence—do not drop off at schools or public buildings.
