Notices for Thursday, November 15 (2:30 p.m. update):

  • The Farmers Market is open until 6 p.m.
  • All programs, classes and events are canceled.
  • The Arts Barn, Casey Community Center, Aquatic Center, Community Museum, Benjamin Gaither Center, Youth Centers and the Kentlands Mansion are closed.
  • The Activity Center will close at 5:30 p.m.
  • Today's recycling collection is suspended. The contractor will collect today's scheduled recycling areas this Saturday, 11/17/18.

The Benjamin Gaither Center serves residents of Gaithersburg and the surrounding area by offering a variety of classes, trips, special events, activities, and a lunch program for those 55 years of age and better.

The Benjamin Gaither Center is open weekdays to all members. Annual memberships are available to all citizens at a nominal fee. The annual membership fee is $45 for residents of the City of Gaithersburg and $125 for non-residents. Your membership will expire one year from the day that you join or renew.

Our Center newsletter will be mailed to your home monthly. Limited transportation is available, depending on your geographic location.

To register for the Benjamin Gaither Center print out a Senior Center Registration form in the Related Documents section and return it in person.

Lunch is served at the Center at noon, Monday-Friday. Lunches are provided through the auspices of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Senior Nutrition Program. Reservations can be made in person or by calling the Center no later than 2 p.m. the day before. The full cost of the meal is $6.50. For persons age 60 and older who complete a registration form to document age, the meal is available for a voluntary contribution. Contributions are used to purchase more meals, so please contribute to the fullest extent possible. Guests younger than 60 must pay the full cost of the meal. Healthy Seniors

  • Monthly blood pressure screening 9:30 - 11:30 AM. Free screening the fourth Wednesday of every month.
